CardioCaddy
From our founding in 2020, CardioCaddy has grown rapidly to become a trusted name in public access defibrillator storage. Our mission has always been simple: to help local heros save lives.
Each milestone – from our first cabinet manufactured in Sheffield to nationwide deployments – reflects our commitment to quality, reliability, and public safety.
In 2025 we proudly surpassed 10,000 units delivered, with our solutions now supporting some of the UK’s most respected organisations. And we’re just getting started.
2020
CardioCaddy founded by Mike with the aim of supporting AED guardians and first responders.
Began designing & testing of our solar-powered AED cabinet.
2021
First three CardioCaddy Solar-powered AED cabinets delivered to Manchester Golf Club.
Began designing & testing our mains-powered AED cabinet – DefibCaddy.
2022
DefibCaddy launched. Ben was brought on-board to manage and co-ordinate procurement and production for CardioCaddy, as demand for the DefibCaddy increased rapidly.
2023
InCaddy chosen by the Department for Education & Schools for a nationwide project.
DefibCaddy selected by the Department of Health and Social Care as the external defibrillator cabinet of choice for a government backed AED accessibility scheme.
2024
Following on from previous success, DefibCaddy was chosen for the British Heart Foundation fully funded scheme to supply public access AED’s across the UK.
DefibCaddy selected for a second time for the Department for Health and Social Care roll-out.
2025
Over 10,000 external AED cabinets delivered.
Partnership with St John Ambulance Service.

Mike Hewitt
Founder & Director
Mike founded CardioCaddy in 2020 after a decade of experience designing and assembling AED cabinets. With an engineering-led approach and deep insight into the industry, Mike is the driving force behind our product range. He now focuses on strategic partnerships and new product development under the Spearwood Holdings umbrella.
Ben Burnham
General Manager
With over 10 years of experience in manufacturing and 10 years of experience in retail and service, Ben oversees the day-to-day operations at CardioCaddy – from procurement and fulfilment to finance and compliance. His hands-on approach keeps the business running smoothly while supporting sustainable growth, leading business development and maintaining strong client relationships.
